Tips for this training log

  • Name the process and the system: “Coded the incoming invoice and entered it in the accounting system” beats “did accounting”.
  • You pass through several departments. At each change, add what the department’s purpose in the company is and what you did there yourself.
  • Link school and company: if you learn costing at school and maintain a price list at work, write it in both columns.
  • No real amounts, customer or supplier names or contract prices in the log. Describe the procedure instead of the figures.

Common mistakes

  • “Office work” or “clerical work” every week without the actual task.
  • Entering tasks unrelated to the training, such as pure odd jobs, without saying what you learned.
  • Not making the change of department visible. Examiners and trainers want to follow your path through the company.
