Pay
"Your pay is coming a bit later this month."
Your training pay is not in your account at the end of the month.
§ 18 Abs. 2 BBiG / § 286 BGB
The boss may NOT do that
It must arrive by the last working day of the month at the latest.
Training pay for the current month must be paid no later than the last working day of the month (§ 18 (2) BBiG). That is a fixed statutory deadline — payment "in the middle of next month" is not allowed for trainees, not even by contract (§ 25 BBiG). If the company does not pay, it is in default from the following day and owes default interest (§§ 286, 288 BGB). If pay is repeatedly or permanently withheld, that can be a good cause for you to terminate the training yourself (§ 22 (2) no. 1 BBiG) — get advice before doing so.
What the law says
§ 18 (2) BBiG – Due date
Pay for the current calendar month is due no later than the last working day of the month.
§ 286 BGB – Default
If a calendar date is set for performance, the debtor is in default without a reminder if it does not perform on time.
§ 25 BBiG – Mandatory
Agreements deviating from these provisions to the trainee's disadvantage are void.
What you can do
- Remind them politely but in writing, stating the due date.
- If there is a reason (e.g. an accounting error), ask for a fixed date.
- If it keeps happening: involve the IHK/HWK or your union.
- Serious arrears can be claimed through the labour court.
