Review and sign off your apprentices' report books

This page works in two modes. With an account it is the overview of every apprentice in your company and all of their weeks. Without an account it shows a single week — the one your apprentice sent you a link for.

Overview of a training company in MyWorkLog: tiles for open weeks, apprentices and signed-off weeks, below an apprentice card with a week strip and the open weeks

A company overview. Open weeks, apprentices and what has been signed off; below, every week with its period and status. Captured with sample data.

Two apprentice cards in the overview: signed-off and open weeks as a bar and a week strip, one revised week highlighted

With an account: every apprentice in one place

Your apprentices connect their report book to your company once, using an invite code. After that every finished week turns up here by itself. Nothing to collect, nothing to print, no links to keep track of.

  • Open weeks first, with the date range, the days and the activities exactly as in the record.
  • Approve with one click, send back with a comment. Your decision then appears in the apprentice's report book.
  • Under §14 BBiG training records must be reviewed at least monthly. The overview points out which week has been waiting too long.
  • Every decision stays in the audit trail with the name and the time, signed on your own device.
  • Several trainers per company, including holiday cover through a time-limited code.
  • If an apprentice changes a week after it was approved, the overview lists it as open again.

No company set up yet? Once you have signed in, you create it here and generate the first invite code. The account route is new — the link route below stays exactly as it was.

Without an account: a single week via a link

For companies that would rather not create an account. All you need is your apprentice's link or QR code.

  1. 1 Your apprentice shows you a QR code or sends you a link.
  2. 2 You read the week here and tap Approve or Send back.
  3. 3 You get a short response code that your apprentice scans with their phone camera. Your decision then appears in their training record.

On this route the week is contained in the link itself. It is not transmitted to a server and is not stored anywhere — the part of an address after the hash mark never leaves the device.

Who sees what

Three roles, each sees only what it needs. The company never sees an apprentice’s time tracking, flexitime account or notes — only the report-book weeks the apprentice has connected, with what the record contains.

  • Apprentice keeps the report book on their own device, connects it once to the company and sees every decision of the trainer in their report book. They can disconnect at any time.
  • Trainer sets up the company, creates invitation codes, reviews the weeks of all connected apprentices, approves or sends back with a note. Every decision carries their name and is signed on their device.
  • Deputy is a second trainer of the same company, invited via a time-limited code — for holidays, say. They see and decide like the first trainer; who decided is recorded in the review history.

What the company gets out of it

No paper to collect and file. One overview instead of one email per apprentice and week, and the monthly deadline under §14 BBiG announces itself. No cost, no plans, no contract — and the apprentices’ data stays with the apprentices, not on a company server.

The IHK’s digital report book ends on 31 December 2026. Anyone supervising apprentices there will find what to do on the page IHK report book ends in 2026 — deadline, export route and how the export carries on here.
